Hoosick Falls

Hoosick Falls is a small village at the northern edge of Rensselaer County, a former mill town on the Hoosic River whose industrial history left a residential character of modest, well-built working-class homes. The village has Federal and Greek Revival houses from its 19th-century commercial period alongside the denser mill-worker housing that followed. It is one of the longer drives for our crew from Clifton Park, but we serve northern Rensselaer County regularly because the need is genuine and the projects are the kind we do well. Kitchens in Hoosick Falls homes are often original — not renovated in 1990 and needing updating, but truly untouched since the house was built, with hardware and layout choices that reflect an earlier era of domestic life. When we come into one of these kitchens, the goal is not just to update it but to rethink it: better storage, better light, a layout that serves how people actually cook.
