North Greenbush sits between Troy and East Greenbush, a suburban town that developed steadily from the 1950s through the 1980s with a mix of ranch homes, split-levels, and colonials built for families who wanted the suburban character south of Troy. The housing stock is comfortable rather than grand — homes built to reasonable standards for working households, with kitchens that are now several decades old and ready for the renovation they never had.
