Schodack

Schodack is a large rural town in the southern part of Rensselaer County, stretching from the Hudson River west to the uplands and containing several small village centers including Castleton-on-Hudson and Schodack Landing. The housing stock is diverse in age and character: river-facing properties in the village centers carry Federal and Victorian architecture from the town's 19th-century commercial period, while the surrounding countryside has farmhouses, rural ranches, and newer construction on subdivided agricultural land.
